The Halifax Historical Museum
It is worth the trip just to see the one hundred year old neoclassical architecture of its home, a former bank, and the original teller's window. A mural of Old Florida wildlife graces one wall and a stained-glass ceiling gives the place a Beaux Arts glow. A historic Racing Zone and handmade surf boards are fascinating. The eclectic collection includes household items from the Spanish and British periods, plantation artifacts, tools, possessions of past residents (even a ball gown worn at Lincoln's inauguration), thousands of historic photographs and, naturally, model racecars.
