As a frequent visitor to the Daytona Beach area, I often consider myself experienced in all the fun things available to beach goers and locals alike. It seems that outdoor activities are the most popular, especially in a place as beautiful as the Florida coast. Although I have enjoyed my fair share of Florida outdoor activities, there are still many places in the area that I have never had the opportunity to experience. Until recently, Go Kart City was one of those places. Located in Port Orange, Go Kart City offers a great chance for both vacationers and residents to have some fun.
When I arrived at Go Kart City, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the location offered more than the name suggests. In addition to go carting, guests can also work on their
batting average in the batting cages, perfect their swing with a round of mini golf, and play in the arcade. My friends and I decided that mini golf was a great way to start our visit.
The site’s mini golf area, known as "Mystic Harbor", is a full-length, 18-hole course complete with a pirate ship and plenty of lush scenery. The price of the golf course is also very reasonable at around $5.00 per person. The course was the perfect mix of easy holes as well as challenging ones, making it a great choice for people of any age to enjoy the game.
After a competitive game of golf, it was time to try out Go Kart City’s best-known feature. Go Kart City boasts the longest go kart track in the Daytona Beach area and offers both single seat cars as well as double seat cars in order to accommodate guests who are too young to drive by themselves. Whether you are the driver or along for the ride, the go kart experience will not disappoint. As I zipped around the track, I couldn’t help but notice how fast the cars were as well as the length of the time we were on the track. The ride was fast and long, offering a great way to get a little competitive with friends.
Go Kart City also offers ways to get competitive inside their on-site arcade. The arcade offers well known games like air hockey and foosball and newer games like Dance Dance Revolution. The arcade served as a great way to take a break from the outdoor activities and gave me and my friends a chance to try our hand at some of our favorite arcade staples.
Go Kart City is definitely a must see place for anyone looking for an enjoyable day. The site is also open at night, allowing visitors to enjoy everything Go Kart City has to offer even when the sun goes down. The wide range of activities allows everyone to find something that they enjoy doing, making Go Kart City a great place for all!
